Join us to watch Sisters in the Struggle (1991). This documentary features Black women active in politics as well as community, labour and feminist organizing. They share their insights and personal testimonies on the double legacy of racism and sexism, linking their personal struggles with the ongoing battle to end systemic discrimination and violence against women and people of colour.

Panelist Bios:
Mariah Braun seeks to amplify the voices of underrepresented individuals and tell stories through a unique point of view. This has drawn her into short documentary filmmaking and producing commercial projects with an emotional tone.
In 2019, Mariah was awarded a Telus STORYHIVE grant to direct and produce her short film Life Without Diagnosis which is set to be released on February 25. Recently, she was awarded her second STORYHIVE grant to produce her new short documentary film, Able .
Ejibola Adetokunbo-Taiwo has an ambitious drive to grow women leaders and drive change by empowering women through entrepreneurship. She wears many hats – entrepreneur, empowerment leader, entrepreneurship consultant, award winner, two-time TEDx speaker, and sought-after speaker at women events. She is the CEO of Simply Ejibola Inc. and the Founder of de Sedulous Women Leaders, a platform where women of color and immigrant women can be uplifted through business coaching, masterclasses, business mixer events, specialized programs, and an annual conference.
