Medicine Wheel
GPPL is pleased to launch an interactive medicine wheel project in collaboration with Communities Building Youth Futures with the guidance of the Grande Prairie Friendship Center.
The medicine wheel is a tool used for teaching and learning Indigenous cultural knowledge. It guides us to stay balanced at the core and equally develop the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of our being. Our goal is to make the medicine wheel teachings more accessible to our community.
The area features a physical representation of the medicine wheel. Each quadrant represents a state of being and includes an activity to support physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Together they serve as a model for a balanced lifestyle. Visitors can access medicine wheel teachings and engage in activities to support their holistic well-being.
Opening Ceremony
Show your support at the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, June 15th. An Elder will lead us in an opening prayer and bless the space.
