About This Program
Everything we do is to meet a need – but which needs? Kids’ behaviour can be puzzling and triggering to parents, especially if we are gritting our teeth with worry, frustration or hurt. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers a language to help us negotiate effectively and peacefully without compromise. At the heart of the process is getting crystal clear on what your kids and you need. For example, friction about how long your child plays video games might be about autonomy and fun for him and peace of mind and a desire for support for you. When we can connect with our and our kids’ needs, new ways of getting our needs met can emerge. Learn how to decipher the needs in this interactive session with Center for Nonviolent Communication Candidate and mother of four, Elke Haggerty. It will give you much more peace of mind!
